So I just came back from a client property where the tenant ran away and is now missing in action. Efforts to contact the tenant have failed. 3 months have passed since the last rental was paid, in effect the tenant has forfeited the 2 months deposit.
Now efforts to retrieve back the property is underway. First thing is to take picture of the premise and then prepare a termination letter. Since the tenant is missing in action, might have to get lawyer to draft out eviction notice.
Back to the title of the post, the water meter and electricity meter was found to be removed. I suppose the tenant left lots of outstanding payment until the meters were removed by the respective authorities. I like this style because it helps to weed out and chase away bad tenants.
