Car Park hijacked by property agent and rented out to 3rd party

My friend’s brother works in Singapore and he bought a condominium in South Klang Valley and left it vacant for a few months. He (the brother) did not want to have the hassle of tenanting it so it was just left as it was.

He (the brother) decided to sell off the unit recently so he ask my friend to pass the keys of the unit to a housing agent. On the day of meetup my friend drove to the condominium and parked at his brother’s unit’s designated car park and went to meet up with the agent.

After meeting up with the agent, when he went back to collect his car he found that the car was clamped by the security. Furious he went to the security center to see what happened, and along the way to security a furious woman confronted him accusing him of parking at her parking spot. she insisted that the parking spot belongs to her, and so they went to the security guard area to settle all the problem.

The strange thing is the security guard says the car park belongs to the lady. So my friend escalated the problem to the condominium management to sort out this whole fiasco. Further investigations revealed a carefully crafted devious plan by some insider, suspected to be staff of condominium management company and the guards. The scam involved cloning the condominium access card and tampering with parking lot records, they rented the car park they didn’t own to the woman for RM 300 per month.

This goes to shows that we need to be careful of extra aware of such scale of thievery. I’ve also heard of agents renting out their client’s properties using AirBnB and pocketing all the money.
