Using L bracket to fix a collapsing cloths wardrobe

One of the clothes wardrobe’s ceiling collapsed, causing the doors not being able to slide close properly. The most common way of fixing it is to nail or screw back the ceiling but as the wardrobe material is compressed wood, this method of repair would not last long.

I scoured the local hardware shop for some ideas and found what would be called an “L bracket”. Basically it is a material shaped like the alphabet L which you can use it to support edges of 2 woods. It comes in pairs and can be plastic form (RM1) or metal (RM4). Although cheap in price, the plastic L bracket is not recommended because it can bend easily under weight stress. The metal L bracket is many times stronger and highly recommended in this scenario.

Installation is a breeze just mark the holes, drill a bit and then put in screws. After installing the L brackets, the wardrobe’s ceiling is now supported by the brackets and the wardrobe’s doors can be closed.
