The latest 2 variable rate funds Amanah Saham Equity version 5 and Amanah Saham National Sara 2 just did fund distribution and there is quite some disparity between the 2 funds. Amanah Saham Equity version 5 is an equity fund that is heavy on equity had a -3.89 returns while the Amanah Saham Sara 2 which is a balanced fund has a +2.79 return. A -3.89 means it would have been better deployed the funds into bank fixed deposits as there is a net loss of investment. The +2.79 returns on the Amanah Saham Sara 2 fund is also nothing to shout about, the losses were cushioned by the bonds and fixed deposits inside the fund and as such it didn't manage to outperform bank fixed deposit of +3%.
