Since buying the Proton Inspira, I've never change the interior cabin air filter before. I read about it in forums and found it quite a simple operation that can DIY. The cabin air filter filters out outside air that is drawn into the air conditioning unit. The car cabin filter serves a critical function by maintaining the quality of air inside the vehicle cabin. It achieves this through air filtration, removing dust, pollen, and airborne particles, thus promoting healthier breathing for passengers.
I bought the Air Cond cabin filter replacement unit at Lazada for RM18.90, it's not the lowest price but it's just an indicative price of the price online.
The Proton Inspira cabin filter is located under the car's (Proton Inspira)'s passenger seat tray. To access the cabin air filter of the car, the car's passenger tray needs to be removed 1st. The tray is held by a hook which can be bend outward to unhinge the tray. The whole mechanism does not have screws and is just a hook mechanism.
Take out the new cabin air filter from the package.
Take note of the arrow symbol on the filter to identify which way is facing upwards.
Once the tray is removed, the existing cabin filter container is revealed, they are held together by a plastic clips, just bend the plastic clip to open the container.
Pull out the old filter and place in the new air filter.
We can see that the old cabin filter is covered with dirt and dust (blacked color). Sometimes I've seen mosquitoes and insects trapped in the filter. The new air filter will give a fresh soul to the car air conditioning system.
To bring your game up a bit, take an air conditioner cleaner spray and spray into the filter hole before putting in the new filter, it will make the air more fresh and deeps cleans the insides of the car's air conditioner.
