Amanah Saham Malaysia 2 - Wawasan (ASM 2 Wawasan) (formerly called Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020) just announced a 4% return on their funds. The returns is similar to year 2020's returns.
I expect the returns to normalized back to 5% once Malaysia experiences economic recovery from Covid19. Amanah Saham Malaysia 2 Wawasan is one of the fixed priced funds issued by ASNB (Amanah Nasional National Berhad) that non bumiputra can purchase, its demand is still very strong and almost always get filled up once someone sells it. This fund can be purchased online via ASNB's online portal (myASB) or Maybank2U, however, need to retry a few times (many times) before successfully purchasing the units. The units of the fund (ASM 2 Wawasan) can only be purchased if someone else is also selling their units.
ASB fixed priced funds are bought and sold at the same price regardless of market conditions, it's returns in previous years have been above 5% but have since seeing historical low returns.
ASB do have their standard variable price funds whereby the fund valuation is based on the end day NAV (Net Asset Value) of the fund. ASM 2 Wawasan's unit are fixed at RM1 per unit, the price be kept the same but the only variable is the yearly dividends which will differ. For now, the returns of 4% is better than bank fixed deposits as therefore it is still an attractive investment.
