After seeing success of Bakong in Cambodia, Laos is getting Japanese blockchain company Soramitsu to build their digital currency, a CBDC (aka Central Bank Digital Currency).
The Laotian currency currently used is called the Laotian Kip. RM1 can get you roughly 2,500 Laotian Kip.
