I'm not sure if it's me or not but I was just thinking about the year of 2022 and just notice it's really as they say the year of scams. There was a record number of scams coming out every day of 2022.
What's even worrying is a lot of the scams are perpetuated by young able working male youths as young as 16 years onwards. Of course some of it can be voluntarily and non voluntarily whereby some of the male youths could be part of victims of a scam job syndicate forced to scam people in their native country.
What I understand also is most of these scammers have been scammed before at one point of their life and are now turning to scamming as a way to get back. They feel that life is quite tough and scamming is the faster way to attain wealth than to work for it. Search terms like "How to make money fast" and "How to make money trading" are very popular terms.
No doubt there are many female scammers also but the numbers are small than the males as there are many more options for females to make more money in the post covid era. Those that are seeking for quick money go on onlyfans, xhamster live, sugar babeing. I don’t really criticize these activities as it these are mostly willing buyer and seller transactions.
We are seeing some rot in society where able young people engaging in these not so healthy activities. Putting in real hard work is seen as uncool now and all the youths are looking to get quick bucks with minimal effort.
I do not see a solution to it but being a parent to teenagers in the 2023 onward era is more challenging than the past.
