You hunt the job, not the job hunt you
Avoid replying messages to job offers via Whatsapp. 100% are all scams. If the job offer comes from Telegram then it's 101% a scam also.
The scammers will entice people with words like :
- freedom
- work from home
- earn US dollars
- work 2-3 hours a day
The job descriptions given seems easy and simple but if it's really that simple and not a scam, why the scammers not just get freelancers lister on Fiverr to do the job instead of random soliciting.
Once the victims are baited, the scammers will scam the victim with a few variations :
- get victim to install a malware app that can read bank login credentials and OTP from SMS.
- get victim to deposit money to secure the job, usually disguised as work permit, visa etc.
- get victim to do some random purchases on ecommerce sites using victim's own money and rebate the victim but the purchases get bigger and bigger and then the scammer will just disappear.
