MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad aka Malayan Sugar Mills, specializes in refined sugar-related products. With a portfolio of trusted brand names, it excels in producing high-quality refined sugar, syrups, and other sugar-based ingredients. MSM is a subsidiary of Malaysian palm oil conglomerate FGV (Felda Global Ventures).
The most famous product from MSM is Gula Prai sugar. MSM also has a brand of artificial/natural sweeteners called Go1/2. Within Go 1/2 there are Sukralose and Stevia based sweeteners. The company don't seem to have aspartame related sweetener products which was recently shown to cause cancer by WHO (World Health Organization).
In Malaysia, refined sugar falls under the category of price-controlled products regulated by the Control of Supplies Act 1961. As a result, the company's profit margins are directly influenced by the controlled price set for sugar. Presently, coarse white sugar is available at RM2.85 per KG, while fine white sugar is priced at RM2.95 per KG.
