Walking through KLCC, you might come across mobilegraphers who offer their services to take your picture with the stunning KL Twin Towers in the background, for a small fee. These hustlers are called mobilegraphers as they typically are armed with handphones and camera accessories to ply their trade.
Typically, these photos are priced between RM5 to RM10. Any rate higher than this range could be considered unreasonably high and aimed at capitalizing on tourists' spending. There has been people showing videos of been scammed by some unscrupulous mobilegraphers and customer snatching between mobilegraphers, one offering a lower price than the other.
While it's important to acknowledge that this isn't necessarily a deceitful practice, as these mobilegraphers are simply earning a livelihood, the increasing number of individuals taking up this role and the growing number of tourist complaints suggest a need for action. Therefore, it could be beneficial for the government to introduce a permit or license system for these mobilegraphers, ensuring fairness and maintaining a certain level of quality.
