Icapital aka ICAP (stock code 5108) is the only closed ended fund listed on Bursa Malaysia. Closed-End Funds are investment vehicles that trade on exchanges, offering a fixed number of shares to investors. Almost all funds in Malaysia are mutual funds/unit trust which are considered open ended funds. These funds do not trade on Bursa Malaysia but instead are bought directly from the fund houses/agents.
The Icapital fund invests only in Malaysia. Icapital the company has other private funds but are not listed on Bursa Malaysia, investors need to deal with the company to invest in those private funds. There's icapital international value fund, icapital global fund, icapital china fund icapital asia ex japan and icapaital asean fund.
Recently Icapital (aka ICAP) proposed to formulate a unique dividend policy to address the wide discount between its share price and NAV (net asset value).
Investors who attended the 2023 Icapital AGM at KLCC convention center on 4 November 2023 were treated with lunch pack and RM20 worth of Parkson shopping voucher. Interesting to note that Parkson is also one of the stocks invested under the Icapital fund.
