Facebook ads are now almost all scams

Facebook scam ads are back again. This time the scam involves advertisement selling of lost suitcases with good at un logical price, eg RM15 per luggage. The luggages/suitcases were purportedly retrieve from lost baggage at Airports.


Sometimes, the scammers will use Airlines (eg Singapore Airlines, Quantas) and Airport (KLIA, MAHB) logo to add more authenticity to the scam advertisement.




Victims will be directed to a link which will let the user randomly select the luggage and then the victims are asked to key in their credit card details to make the payment and then the luggage purportedly will be sent to the victim's address. In the end, the victim's credit card details are stolen and money withdrawn to pay the non-existing luggage.



Currently, Facebook has become a hotspot for scam ads, making it crucial to approach sponsored posts with a level of skepticism. It's noteworthy that the platform (Facebook) faces challenges in addressing this issue, as these deceptive ads contribute significantly to the company's revenue.
