Parcel phishing scam in Malaysia

Few days ago I received an SMS message using Android RCS (Rich Communication Services). The SMS message claims that I had a parcel from Post Malaysia that couldn't be delivered and have to click the link given to arrange for another delivery date.

The link to the website immediate caught by antivirus software to flag out the suspicious site.

I used a sandbox browser to go to the link but discovered it's expired already. Most likely somebody already reported the scam and the contents was already taken down.

Pos Malaysia is aware of this scam and have put up notices to warn the general public on these scams.

For safety I would suggest to disable RCS chat features on Android phones. RCS (Rich Communication Services) upgrades the default "Messages" app, allowing messages to go beyond the SMS limit of 160 characters. This encourages spamming and phishing messages into the phone where scammers are able to write more convincing messages. The settings to disable RCS is in the Settings of Android phone.
