After getting back the keys from tenant, had to replace all the window handle because somehow all of it got broken or starting to rust.
window handle replacements are very easy to do, can save money by DIY method. Each handle costs RM 4. However, there are some stuff which needs to be considered like :
1. Direction of the handle
There's basically 2 variations of the handle, left and right. The left handle is for installing on the left window while the right handle is for installing on the right panel. The left handle opens towards the left while the right handle opens towards the right. So make sure you are certain of the number of types of handles required or else you need to go to the hardware store again. Windows that open from the bottom or the top, it doesn't really matter as both types of handles also can
2. Screws
Make sure you include screws, the screws are quite short and wide so it's not the standard screws used for wall plug. You can still use the existing screws but they are probably rusty or worn out already and the screws don't cost much. I got a small bag of screw for RM1.
3. Plastic Padding thickness
Before or after installing the new window handle, make sure the plastic padding is cut to proper size. The default size is quite thick so after installing the window handle, the window might not be able to close. For me I just use a simple pen knife to cut out the excess plastic padding.
