In November 2015, I attended a free trading class by Dr Thithi Tharasuk, a stock charting expert. The free trading class was organized by Hong Leong futures. I have never traded futures instruments beforek, only opened to account out of curiosity.
When it comes to stock charting I’m still a newbie in it. Overall the class was easy to understand but when tried to apply the techniques on local stock charts the winning chart patterns were very hard see clearly, even by Dr Thithi himself. One thing I took out of the class was that Dr Thithi only trades a handful of times a year (maybe 30 trades), he basically trades when the chart signals are very strong then he will go all out, take a big bite of profit and go into hibernation mode.
It just shows how difficult it is to become a professional stock trader. A pro like Dr Thithi doesn’t even trade everyday so why should we trade daily as the markets keep giving mixed signals. Only trade when the signals are very strong, when you see a strong edge then go all out and cash out/take profit.
