Finally, the ball starts rolling. 2 neighboring economies will be linking up for cross border payment. Malaysia's DuitNow and Singapore's PayNow will be linking up together by 2022.
PayNow is part of NETS (Network for Electronic Transfers) and is owned by Singaporean banks DBS, OCBC and UOB.
This is going to be big win for both economies (Malaysian and Singapore). Imagine going to Singapore and just whip out our TnG ewallet and pay to purchase stuff in Singapore without exchanging notes.
