It's amazing how fast Maybank now comes out with new games in MAE (Maybank Anywhere Everywhere) . It's just 1 month after their last game MAE-mories and their latest game is TAPtastic.
MAE is Maybank's digital ewallet or some say is the bank's version of a digital saving account. The MAE app is a mobile 1st app, all functionalities are enabled in the MAE mobile app. However in the web version of Maybank2u, can only see MAE balance and also do FPX transactions.
I use MAE a lot as my go to app for banking , I've not used the Maybank2U app for a very long time. There's many features in the MAE like digital tabung, spending (expense) tracker and food discovery.
The game mechanics of TAPtastic is very different from Maybank MAE's previous games (MAE-mories, MAE-raya, MAE-CNY). I was expecting Maybank to recycle previous games by just changing the colors and skin of the game based on the new theme.
This time round, TAPtastic is purely game of chance where you are presented with 6 colored balloons and popping the correct balloon wins some cash, prizes while popping the wrong balloon wins nothing (yes nothing). This game is much faster and a no brainer compared to previous MAE games.
I tested it the 1st time and I got RM0.50 cash rebates. However I did notice it's quite hard to get prizes, there seem to be less odds to win prizes while the prizes are much bigger than previous games.
This time however, the prizes are much bigger in the form of lucky draw chance for winning Proton X70, Proton X50, Honda RS150R 😲. Just launching the Maybank MAE app daily gives you 1 chance to play the game already.
The objective for Maybank to do these games is to create awareness and onboard more people to their Maybank MAE app. Using referral channels to acquire customers is must faster and cheaper than doing digital ads, radio and tv advertisements. Maybank MAE TAPtastic game runs all the way until Jan 2022.
