Petronas Lubricants (a division of Petronas) just launched a world fist lubricant called Iona specifically for Electric Vehicles.
The lubricant has the following features :
- friction reduction to reduce energy wastage
- temperature management to keep equipment cooled
To be frank, I wasn't aware that electric vehicles need lubricants. My friend who owns a Tesla says his vehicle does not need any engine oil or lubricant. Petronas Iona is probably marketed to EV equipment manufacturers rather than end consumers to use Petronas Iona in the EV equipment.
