Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet’s GOinvest feature to offer wider access to Bursa Malaysia investment products, thanks to a collaboration with Bursa Malaysia and Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad (AHIBB).
This move is part of an ongoing effort to democratise equity investments and promote financial inclusion among Malaysians.
The GOinvest feature will enable investors to seamlessly invest and monitor their portfolios, all within a single app, with a user-friendly interface and robust security measures in place. I'm not sure if they will introduce fractional shares trading or not but it would be a good feature for Gen Z investors who have been missing from Bursa Malaysia. I am just speculation fractional trading will be introduced as the other GOinvest products have been able to do fractional aka micro investing purchases.
GOinvest is not a new feature in TnG ewallet, currently it has access to CIMB Principal unit trusts and ASNB's (Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad) funds. In my opinion, reducing sales charges for investment funds would be beneficial in making them more accessible to Gen Z investors. Additionally, I commend the convenience offered by the TnG eWallet for direct investments. Lowering these charges can potentially attract younger individuals to engage in investing.
